Afeisha Brown Music

Afeisha Brown, born and grew up on the hills of Paramin, Trinidad and Tobago, is a driven and free spirited vocalist, songwriter, producer and entrepreneur.

 

Being a multifaceted creative, Afeisha is also the founder of Mixing Magic, her home-based catering business and, The Angels Army Foundation, her nonprofit organisation which contributes food and monetary donations to the less fortunate.

 

Creating original music, sharing it with live and virtual audiences and impacting communities is all part of a deep personal calling for Ms. Brown.

 

The local creative grew up DJing for  her family’s events and special celebrations, singing in the shower and dancing in the mirror, to many different genres of music(reggae, soca, dancehall, country, pop, r&b and more). She even created music mixes and shared them to her YouTube page and also, with close friends via USB hard drives/CD’s.

 

Afeisha always dreamed of having her own “music room” to record and perform original songs and covers.

 

Later on, in her teenage years, she discovered her great  love for the local parang genre of music.

 

The petite vocalist revealed a sermon she heard during a church service that  inspired her “to do more” with her “God-given talent”. “Elevating the parang genre of music is definitely a calling for me. During the pandemic in 2020, I was logged into my online church service and the priest left us with a message that day: ‘Be a prophet to God’. In that very moment my inner voice whispered to me ‘God gave you this gift, use it to serve him’. I immediately picked up my cuatro and began strumming and humming the beautiful melody of my first biblical parang song, “Madre Del Salvador” which tells the story of the annunciation,” she shared.

 

In 2021, Afeisha launched her first ever virtual parang show on Christmas Day, ‘Pure Love for Parang’, and after building her fan-base, in 2022, she launched her first live parang event, ‘Parangin Till Mornin’ which was a sold-out event at Wing-It on Ariapita Avenue (POS). For Christmas in July 2023, Afeisha launched her debut parang album “La Música Parranda“ live at The Big Black Box.

 

Since 2019 to present; She has performed with live parang bands such as ‘Voces Jovenes’, ‘Amantes de Parranda’ and her very own band, 'Amor Puro'.

 

Afeisha’s long term goal is to heal, inspire and uplift others through music. One of her greatest aims is to promote the local parang art form internationally.  She wants to encourage others to dream big, have faith, trust in the universe, and believe that anything is possible with God.
